Hawaiian Grilled Teriyaki Beef
Share
This classic island-inspired recipe is salty, sweet, and packed with flavor. It’s perfect for grilling season—and even better when made with our Folsom Farm Beef Flank, Sirloin, Skirt, or Flat Iron Steaks. Serve it over a bed of rice with grilled green onions and pineapple for a full Hawaiian-style plate.
Ingredients
- 1–2 lbs of ¾–1 inch thick Sirloin, Flank, Skirt, or Flat Iron Steak
- 1 cup Aloha soy sauce (or other low-sodium soy sauce)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
- 1 bunch green onions (for grilling)
- Fresh pineapple spears (optional)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
- Steamed white rice
Instructions
-
Make the Marinade
Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger in a bowl or bag. Add steak whole (for grilling) or thin-sliced (for stovetop). Marinate for 2–24 hours.
-
Optional Sauce
For extra sauce, double the marinade and simmer a portion on the stove for 3–5 minutes until thick.
-
Grill the Steak
Heat grill to 400°F+. Grill steak 2 minutes per side, then flip every minute until done. Watch for burning—sugars can char quickly.
-
Rest and Slice
Rest steak 5 minutes, then slice thinly across the grain.
-
Grill Extras
Grill green onions and pineapple alongside the meat. Brush with butter or oil for best results.
-
Serve
Top a portion of rice with your steak and grilled extras. Top with sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy immediately!
