Hawaiian Style Teriyaki Burgers

Hawaiian Style Teriyaki Burgers

If you're looking to change up your burger routine, this is it. These Hawaiian-style teriyaki burgers are juicy, sweet, salty, and full of flavor. Grilled pineapple, buttery onions, and a savory teriyaki glaze take this burger to the next level.

It all starts with the beef. Our Folsom Farm ground beef is pasture-raised, hormone-free, and antibiotic-free. Each patty comes from a single animal — not a blend of dozens like you’ll find in most grocery store ground beef. And because we use high-quality cuts and aim for an 85/15 ratio, our burgers stay juicy, flavorful, and clean.

Ingredients

Scale up based on how many burgers you're making — 1 lb makes 3 large or 4 standard patties.

  • 1 lb Folsom Farm Ground Beef
  • Salt & pepper
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled and sliced into ¼" rings
  • Cheese slices (Provolone, American, or Pepper Jack)
  • Bacon, cooked crispy
  • 1 sweet onion, sautéed in butter until caramelized
  • Tomato slices
  • Leaf lettuce
  • Hawaiian sweet burger buns, toasted

Instructions

1. Prep the Burger Patties

  • Add ground beef to a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix in ¼ cup teriyaki sauce until evenly combined.
  • Form into patties and set aside.

2. Prep Toppings

  • Pineapple: Peel, core, and slice into rings.
  • Onions: Sauté in butter until golden and soft.
  • Bacon: Cook until crispy.
  • Buns: Toast until golden to prevent sogginess.
  • Veggies: Prep lettuce and tomato slices.

3. Grill

  • Preheat grill (charcoal or propane) to high heat.
  • Grill patties 2–3 minutes per side, then flip every minute until internal temp is 155–160°F.
  • Baste patties with extra teriyaki sauce during final minutes, then add cheese.
  • Grill pineapple rings until caramelized, about 4–5 minutes total.

4. Assemble the Burgers

  • Start with lettuce and tomato on the bottom bun.
  • Add the burger patty, grilled onions, bacon, and pineapple ring.
  • Top with the toasted bun and serve warm.
